HVAC Mechanic

Precinct Properties Branch – Toronto, ON

The Office of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, Precinct Properties Branch, is seeking a certified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic who will be responsible for servicing and repairing all types of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems within a historic building.

In this Mechanical – HVAC position, you will apply your extensive knowledge of the principles surrounding heating, ventilation, refrigeration and air conditioning along with your experience in control and automation of HVAC systems in the course of ensuring all related systems in the building are functioning at peak performance. Specifically, you will apply your experience towards performing chiller and cooling tower maintenance, water chemical testing and sprinkler system drain and fill.

You are at ease in making changes and adjustments to building automation systems to ensure that the Assembly's systems are up-to-date and comply with legislation. Adjusting pneumatic and DDC controls, along with completing filter changes and cleaning/lubricating all related equipment on a regular basis round out your responsibilities.

Your outgoing personality lends itself to fostering positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, allowing you to investigate state-of-the-art technologies and techniques that can be applied to the Branch.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Complementing your several years of demonstrated experience as a refrigeration & air conditioning mechanic, you have a flair for reading, interpreting and producing working drawings and specifications. You also bring the following strengths to this Mechanical – HVAC role:

• You have experience in using, calibrating and testing instruments, gauges and electro-mechanical and pneumatic controls used in HVAC systems.
• You are driven by being organized, responsive and flexible.
• You are very familiar with the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
• You superior communication, problem-solving, judgment and analytical skills will contribute to your success in this position.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a historic building.

The salary range for this position is $60,128 to $76,654 per annum.
