President David Dime was influenced to pursue a career in chemistry by his father, a former pharmacist. In the early 1980s, David began a small company to supply researchers with chemicals not commercially available. On October 26, 1983, the company was incorporated and in 1985 his brother Charles joined as his business partner.

TRC has continued to grow steadily over the years, David is still the Head of Science and his brother Charles handles the financial aspects of the company. HVAC Technician

Job Requirements & Responsibilities

Trouble shoot facility’s HVAC equipment in order to determine if problem must be escalated to a contract service provider
Install refrigeration and HVAC equipment with or without the assistance of contractors
Escort contractors on site, explain if the repairs and installation cannot be completed inhouse, and ensure they comply with safety standards
Maintain contractor list and provide feedback on their services and prices
Repair malfunctioning building services equipment, such as exhaust fan and HVAC units; this include replacing belts, pulleys, etc.
Repair malfunctioning laboratory equipment connected to the HVAC system, such as fume hoods, fume enclosures, stacks, etc.
Maintain controls using BAS, track repairs history and keep equipment in operating condition for optimum energy savings
Carry out Preventive Maintenance on Buildings services equipment
Carry out Preventative Maintenance on building services and laboratory equipment
Perform regular inspections to identify and correct equipment malfunctions, repairs and replacements. Analyze root causes of equipment failures and propose corrective actions
Work as General Maintenance Technician when there are no pressing HVAC issues
Perform other duties and complete additional projects as assigned, commensurate with job knowledge and experience.
College Diploma or equivalent experience or training
Licensed Gas Technician (G2) and/or License RAC Mechanic (313A)
3 to 5 years’ work experience in the HVAC industry
Have the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Excellent customer focus/service skills
Ability to work on collaboration & teamwork with others
Good job knowledge with excellent analytical skills, with high attention to detail
Technically competent with strong problem solving skills
Self-starter and good self-management skills to manage multiple tasks
Provide new initiatives and suggestions for improvements
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of departments computer applications, including Filemaker Pro
