Verification & Validation Test Lead
at Innovoice in Toronto
Responsibilities:
• Prepares and leads the Commissioning Test Phases of a System composed of the following Subsystems: (a) Network Management, (b) Signalling: track circuits, signals, switch machines, interface to existing relay interlocking, (c) Communication Com Network telephone system PA level crossing monitoring CCTV cameras, (d) Power Supply, (e) Switch Clearing Devices, (f) Building Services: HVAC, Fire Detection, Fire Suppression, Lighting, (g) Civil Works Prefabricated Bungalows foundations, and (h) Signal Bridges Cable Raceways.
• Supervises FATs in factories of sub-suppliers.
• Supports the development of Test Procedures and other test related documentation in a V&V Project Team.
• Communicates with the TIC as well as the operators on the customers side in order to disperse confidence to run the tests under the rolling wheel in a professional manner.
• Performs training and service programs to educate customers and staff in the proper operation and maintenance of products.
• Prepares and maintains quality and safety certifications.
• Performs complex conflict resolution for internal and external conflicts.
• Completes maintenance contracts and service agreements and ensures they are being met.
Qualifications:
• Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Systems Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in a Systems, Test, Quality, V&V or equivalent role in the railway industry.
• Proven experience in the testing and commissioning of railway systems and subsystems.
• Knowledge of North American railway standards.
• Strong understanding of systems engineering and project processes and disciplines as evidenced through 3 years experience working on mid ($10-100M) to large sized projects ($100M+).
• Familiarity with test and configuration management tools an asset.
• Great analytical skills.
• Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligible.
• Previous supervisory experience with small, distributed teams is important.
• Knowledge of transit rail industry and related systems is essential.
